We rank high school football and basketball recruits. We are looking for writers who watch them play and can tell us where our rankings are right and where they are wrong.
Our rankings come from a formula. It is fast and consistent, and it misses things. Right now it has one 2027 football safety at No. 82 while the consensus rankings have the same player at No. 294. We would like to know which of us is closer, and someone who has watched the player is better placed to say than a spreadsheet.
The methodology explains how each score is built, so you can argue with a specific piece of it.
Pieces on a single player, a high school, a state or a college's recruiting class. We also take local reporting: a coach, a rivalry, a school that keeps sending players to the same program. Whatever the subject, the piece should make an argument and back it with what you saw or who you talked to.
Anything about a player's family, grades, health or private life. Most of the people we cover are teenagers. We also pass on commitment rumors without a named source and on rankings lists we could generate ourselves.
